Gaelic Park Players are delighted and excited to be hosting the twelfth annual
Theatre Festival. The first Theatre Festival was held in Winnipeg, Canada and
Gaelic Park Players hosted the sixth Theatre Festival here in Chicago in1999.
The festival is a publicly adjudicated presentation of classical and modern Irish
plays by Irish playwrights or by non-Irish playwrights, with a distinctly Irish
theme. Seven full-length plays will be performed over four days, kicking off with
Gaelic Park Players' own production
"THE COUNTRY BOY"
On Wed, May 18, at 8:00p.m.
The remaining six groups will perform on Thu, Fri and Sat.
Two different performances each day,
one matinee at 2:00p.m. and one evening performance at 8:00p.m.
We will keep you informed here when schedules are firmed up.
PARTICIPATING GROUPS

Each group presents a full length play and all performances are judged
by a panel of competent adjudicators. This year's panel is composed of:
Cecilie O'Reilly
Director, Actor, Voice Coach
Teaches Irish Theatre at Columbia University, Chicago.
Geoff White
Director & Performer Tara Players
& Savoy Society Ottawa, Canada
Jack Phillips
As a director and producer, he has developed more than 40 original works.
He was an educator and lecturer at Harvard University and Yale Drama School.
He is presently Artistic Director at The Theatre of Western Springs.
